Colour Trends Dominating Autumn/Winter ’22

It’s raining, there’s a chill in the air and I’m firmly in autumn mode.  Right now I’m turning my attention to sharing the colour fashion trends so here’s everything I think you need to know.

For those of you who like to keep up with the seasonal trends you may already have some cerulean blue (one of the seasons hottest hues) in your wardrobe.  There’s also a fab shade of pink which will brighten even the most colourful of wardrobes, an update on this summers yellow and two great neutrals for this time of year – ecru and brown.

Ecru

I’m so excited this season to see warmer hues of vanilla and ecru instead of the usual crisp, bright whites of season’s past.  The warmer shades are not only timeless they’re hugely versatile and look amazing teamed with neutrals (think navy or tan) as well as the richer hues of burgundy and forest green.

Cerulean Blue

For as many years as I can remember blue has featured every season in one shade or another and for A/W22 it’s one of the most vibrant shades of blue we’ve seen in a while.  Cerulean blue is a tone more commonly associated with the warmer months but this year it’s proving popular on the catwalks in tailoring and satin party dresses.

Chocolate Brown

I’m not going to lie – this is one of my favourite autumnal shades – a fantastic neutral with wonderful depth and warm undertones it looks amazing teamed with tomato red, mustard yellow, olive green and for the more adventurous teal blue.

Magenta Pink

Pinks of the vibrancy are guaranteed to lift your mood and inject life into your wardrobe.  Looks fab teamed with black and if top to toe isn’t quite your thing try giving a nod to this shade through your accessories.

Ochre Yellow

A common theme we’ve seen this season is borrowing some of summer’s top colour trends and making them work for autumn.  A cheery daffodil yellow was seen across the high street this summer while the shade has been toned down and softened for autumn/winter resulting in this beautiful ochre shade.

Metallics

OK, so metallic’s aren’t really a colour but who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle?!  With pretty much every colour of the rainbow being explored in sequins this season, pretty pastel tones were most impactful as well as gold and silver which never date – just remember gold if your suited to warmer shades and silver if your suited to cooler shades.
What colour will you be wearing this season?
