Metallic Mania

Once worn only by the privileged classes metallics have since become all the rage and are a big theme again this season.  Great news for all us (myself included) that like a little sparkle in our wardrobe.  From head to toe sequins to a more subtle shimmer as long as your shinning anything goes.

Want to get the look?  Here’s how.

Team a metallic jacket or coat with your favourite jeans, t-shirt and pumps to rock a casual daytime look.

For something a little more feminine try a jumper or blouse and denim jacket worn with a pleated skirt.

For a more dressy night time look swap your jumper and pumps for a biker jacket, heels and a fab clutch bag or go all out head to to in your favourite sparkle.

If that all feels a little scary then try experimenting first by introducing a little sparkle into your wardrobe such as some detail in a top, or dress, a nail vanish, piece of jewellery, bag or some metallic pumps.

A couple of points always worth remembering before making your purchase are lighter colours and shiny fabrics make the area they cover appear larger.  It’s also worth opting for a shade that’s going to compliment your natural colouring – gold and bronze metallics work best on those suited to shades of colour with a warm undertone and silver and pewter metallics work best on those suited to shades of colour with a cool undertone.
