It may not feel like it but it’s time to start stocking up with this seasons key pieces . . . . . . read on for my top 5 must haves for autumn/winter.
Animal Print
Animal print is everywhere on the high street, some of which come in classic neutral tones but if that’s not your thing there are some more wild and wonderful multi-coloured versions out there too. If opting for a dress in this latest trend fills you with fear think of introducing some animal print in your accessories instead.

Slouchy Boots
There are cow boy boots, knee-high boots and snake-print boots all taking to the stage this autumn, but if there’s one style that’s a must have it’s the slouchy boot. A great option if you’re bottom heavy but love the skinny jean look. What’s more they’re easier to tuck your trousers into.

Leather
The most dominant of all fabrics this season is leather which can be seen everywhere by way of skirts, trousers and trench coats. It doesn’t have to be in black either – brown, navy, petrol green, grey, burgandy and mink are just some of the fabulous shades available this season.

There’s some stiff competition for animal prints ruling the stores this season, and it comes in almost any form of checked fabric. From dog tooth checks to the more traditional plaids – anything goes.

Terri Check Trousers – £65 Phase Eight

Jazzy Jumpers
Good knitwear is a cornerstone of our autumn wardrobe with jazzy prints and over sized jumpers all the rage. When thinking about adding to your wardrobe ensure the pieces are going to fit with you existing pieces. There are some great prints and colours around to choose from so have fun when shopping but remember the basics – detail adds volume, horizontal stripes shorten and widen, vertical lines lengthen and narrow.
If bold prints aren’t your thing why not have a play with over sized knits or stick to your guns and opt for simple styles in merino or mohair – alternatively plain colour knits with more texture – think will go with pretty much everything in your wardrobe making them a worthy investment.
